I’ve been a fan of these guys since seeing them open up for The Misfits at Islington Academy back in 2013. It was early, the room was still filling up and they absolutely tore the stage apart. Without a doubt In Evil Hour left a far bigger mark on me than even The Misfits’ set did (though Dez Cadena was outstanding.)

It’s rare to find a film that can truly devastate you, but 2013 indie drama Still Life came very close. With a stark portrayal of a man alone in a thankless job surrounded by little more than grey-white walls and deceased loners, it leaves you clutching to the few rays of hope buried in the story.
Directed by Uberto Pasolini, who produced the likes of The Full Monty, the story centres around John May, a case worker for a south London borough who performs the task of tracking down friends and relatives of those found dead with no one to mourn for them. It quickly clear to see that John, passionate about his job, is one of the only people who cares about these lost souls. Even from the opening sequence, we see him attending funerals as the only guest.
Having returned from a big line up change, it looks like these London lads are gearing up for a new album. Based on their latest video for ‘Let ‘Em Burn’, which is packed with some of the most crushing riffs I’ve heard for weeks and an intensity that I can only imagine could shatter a room live, I’ve got high hopes for the record.
Marking the release of their soon to chart debut album ‘Blossom’, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes crashed through London’s The Borderline last night like a truck. Frank Carter’s intimate return to stage was nothing less than explosive, received by the crowd with ferocious applause.
