I’ve been a fan of these guys since seeing them open up for The Misfits at Islington Academy back in 2013. It was early, the room was still filling up and they absolutely tore the stage apart. Without a doubt In Evil Hour left a far bigger mark on me than even The Misfits’ set did (though Dez Cadena was outstanding.)
Since, I’ve caught them a few more times around London, supporting the likes of The Creepshow and The Exploited and they never disappoint. Not just live but on record too. The first thing I did after catching their slot in Islington was download their EP ‘Tell your God To Ready For Blood’ and listened to it on repeat like some kind of manic fanboy. Most of the songs can be found on their debut ‘The World Bleeds Out’, which is always lurking around my record player.
Anyway, they’ve just dropped a new track taken from their latest EP ‘Built On Our Backs’. Centered around the use of drones in Western warfare, it’s fittingly come as our government has joined others in bombing Syria.
If you haven’t heard them before, these guys have a really raw, honest hardcore sound, layered with driving melodies that’s fully brought to life by lead-singer Al’s powerful, guttural vocals.
