It’s a good week for new music. When late last year progressive black metal wonders Altar of Plagues came to an end, it was a massive loss – ‘Teethed Glory and Injury’ was one of my top albums last year. It’s good, then, that songwriter, James Kelly, is back and ready to put out a new release with his solo act WIFE.

It’s a sonic digression from Altar of Plagues, moving into the electronic realm, but the darkness remains. From the sounds of this teaser, the forthcoming album will be laced with sombre build ups and an intense mood, surrounded by haunting rhythms.

Definitely worth branching out for. Listen and wait.
