Meshuggah Should Always Be an Internet Meme

Meshuggah

Meshuggah’s having a great time as an internet meme lately, from their own version of Pacman to The Wolf of Wallstreet. Why not perpetuate it?

After all, who has anything better to do than direct the Swedish metal powerhouse’s lead singer Jens Kidman after guitar picks in a makeshift Pacman, chased by the other members? Thought not – so go play it here.

And when you’re done, you can take a look at the perfect synchronicity of this scene from The Wolf of Wallstreet and Meshuggah’s Rational Gaze. That is, if you somehow missed it.

The list of the band’s talents never seem to end. Aside from not being able to make a bad album, giving 8-string guitars a reason to exist and apparently motivating Zakk Wylde’s perpetual workouts, they also help some old guys in a field get down.

I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to their next viral hit. Not in a ‘looking forward to Christmas’ kind of way – the memes aren’t that good. And I don’t even get particularly excited about Christmas either. In hindsight, I’m not sure I’m even bothered whether there’s another one. Maybe if it was as good as that Patient Bear. That guy never gets old. Maybe that’s what the next Meshuggah meme should aim for; raise the bar, internet.

It doesn’t even have to be Meshuggah. Any band will do. Dio, perhaps. Until then, I guess we’ll have to settle for grumpy cat, It’s either that or risk getting off the internet and doing something worthwhile.
